ZEC-Service was established in 1992 as a result of outsourcing of repair services offered by ZEC Wrocław. At the beginning the team, which laid the foundations of the new entity as well as the great majority of the personnel employed, consisted of the employees of the Repair Department at ZEC Wrocław.

The basic objectives and assumptions adopted by the team as it was setting up the Company was to fulfil the production potential more effectively, decrease the repair related costs and achieve positive profitability under market economy conditions through expanding into new areas of activity and winning markets outside KOGENERACJA S.A.

Much has changed over the last dozen or so years that ZEC-Service’s has been present in the market. The Company has implemented the Integrated Management System for the Environment and H&S and another parallel System of Quality Assurance in Welding.

We have won numerous business awards including the Lower Silesia Business Certificate (which the Company has won many times) and the Lower Silesia Business Award.

Over ten years of economic activity have taught us a lot. Today, apart from operating in the professional energy market, we are also active in the following sectors: heat engineering; maintenance and operation of technical installations; production of construction elements including components and subassemblies for the railway industry; maintenance of electric, power equipment as well as instrumentation and automated control systems. Since 2003 we also have an export group at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, which performs works for the CMS detector unit (part of the LHC project) and the infrastructure of facilities and objects directly related to it. In 2006 and 2008 we received the Special CMS Gold Award in recognition of our work in this innovative project.

In 2005, in cooperation with KOGENERACJA S.A 2005, we initiated activities that led to the emergence of the Department of Heat Energy Distribution (ODEC), which sells thermal energy produced by the CHP Plant to individual customers under a contract formula enabling settlement of payments for the heat actually used by the customer. We were also licensed by URE to trade in thermal energy.

Throughout the years of our presence on the market, we developed our own business model, which gives us stability in the changing environment. We are active in three principal domains. One concerns services provided in the broadly understood energy sector including to KOGENERACJA S.A (we secure these contracts on the free market through bidding in published tenders). Another domain is production of elements, parts and subassemblies including for Bombardier (this area of activity was supported by heavy investment in modern equipment such as machines for laser cutting of steel and a large CNC miller). The third pillar of our portfolio is the external market.

In 2009 the Company purchased shares owned by KOGENERACJI S.A. The package was redeemed with no changes to the amount of Company equity (the transaction was financed only from profits). Currently there are no capital links either with KOGENERACJA S.A or with EDF, a situation which does not in any way impair the quality of the work performed for the group. Quite to the contrary – we hope that, as a result of this transaction, we shall expand the current scope of services provided for one of our most important business partners.
